      LCMC at a Glance

      Accompanying the Young
      in Faith and Culture

Welcome to Loyola Centre for Media and Communications (LCMC) – An apostolate of the Jesuits of Eastern Africa using media & formation to build resilient, value-driven children and youth across Eastern Africa. At LCMC, we work directly with children and youth up to 25 years through imparting them with leadership skills, as well as nurturing their talent using media as our major strategy. We also work with them indirectly through building the capacity of their parents, teachers, animators and care givers so that they are well equipped to support the holistic formation of these children and young adults. We do this through our programs.

      What People’s Say
      About LCMC

This training taught me how to shape the future of children, preparing them to focus positively and build their future; the 'dot-com generation'. I feel completing this course is essential. Positive parenting is the front line and those who have completed it MUST be ambassadors and advocates to encourage others yearly.

Before the training, my approach was less confident. I have gained great critical insight on how behavior and character shape children, truly understanding different growth stages. Now I am able to get to their level myself, using correction methods other than corporal punishment, and deeply understanding children. This is a great, positive training with a big impact for anyone working with children.

The LCMC Child Identity Formation Training was a necessary wake-up call. The most valuable insight I gained was around Technology and Digital Parenting - a topic every 21st-century parent and teacher needs to be equipped for. The training changed my understanding of positive parenting, making me realize we must be open-minded and constantly learning. I am now actively applying the practice of trying to understand teens from their perspective, rather than relying on my own teenage experiences.

As someone overseeing over 650 learners, I needed to be more confident and considerate in my approach to modern parenting and Digital Parenting challenges. This training delivered critical insights and practical guidance past the parenting standards. I see how important digital literacy is. I'm actively applying previous lessons of safe and responsible use of media. This program needs to continue for the benefit of children today.

As someone responsible for over 600 learners, I found this training valuable. The key insights on Digital Parenting and the 21st-century world gave me clear applicable insights, many of the tools needed to apply effectively Value-Based Parenting. The training was very productive and I now feel much more equipped to handle modern challenges in child identity formation."
