WHO WE ARE
LCMC Programmatic Areas and Organizational Structure

LCMC’s intervention is interactive, supportive, and driven by young people themselves. In the pursuit of Social Resilience, they assist youth in developing networking, advocacy, mental wellness, and innovation skills. For Communication and Technology Resilience, their professional team imparts digital skills, personal profile building, media literacy, and content production skills. They also organize boot camps tailored to the interests and needs of young people. In the realm of Spiritual Resilience, LCMC supports youth in understanding synodality, participating in alternative content production, acquiring media literacy, and developing servant leadership skills. Their ultimate goal is to empower young people to support each other in overcoming the adversities they face.
WHAT DOES LCMC DO?
The Loyola Centre for Media and Communications (LCMC), an initiative of the Jesuits, is dedicated to fostering resilience and dignity among children and young people on a global scale. LCMC’s mission is to empower youth to confront various social adversities, spanning from macro-level conflicts like political and ethnic tensions, religious intolerance, and economic hardships to micro-level challenges such as mental health issues, drug abuse, misinformation, and peer pressures. To tackle these issues, LCMC offers three distinct programs: Spiritual Resilience, Communication and Technology Resilience, and Social Resilience. They target two age groups: teenagers (13-17) in high schools and young adults (18-25) in vocational training, universities, or out of school. LCMC collaborates with schools to engage teenagers in creative activities like drama, music, and painting to deepen their understanding of social justice and spirituality. For young adults, they focus on building resilience through youth leaders in formal and informal groups who, in turn, mentor their peers to overcome adversity.
