Clean up our streets’ Campaign

In a recent event LCMC in collaboration with St. Bhakita Mukuru primary school hosted a clean up activity in a bid to launch LCMC’s advocacy campaign on ‘Clean our streets’. Children engaged with different stakeholders in this event. The event showcased the power of collective effort involving government officials, Church representatives, NGOs, and youth organizations fostering a comprehensive approach to addressing children’s rights and environmental issues. By engaging directly in waste segregation and cleanup activities, children gained a deeper understanding of sustainable practices and their role in protecting the environment.

LCMC has been engaging children from different schools in a bid to enhance their voices in matters environmental conservation, policy and advocacy. In support of the greening initiative, we engage children in planting trees to ensure the next generation enjoys a greener future, clean and safe environment.

Online summit

Student advocacy with stakeholders

Recently, LCMC hosted an online summit that brought together children and key stakeholders, including representatives from the national government, National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS), and the Greenbelt Movement. During the session, children engaged actively with the panel, asking critical questions and holding stakeholders accountable for their actions or inactions in environmental conservation, showcasing their growing advocacy skills.
